Unity of Muslims is no more a
luxury but a necessity for survival.
Survival is first the utmost
obligation then follow other issues.
For that reason one is even
allowed to compromise and feign
disbelief (kufr) in the face of danger
in order to survive.
Allah said:
” ﻣﻦ ﻛﻔﺮ ﺑﺎﻟﻠﻪ ﻣﻦ ﺑﻌﺪ ﺇﻳﻤﺎﻧﻪ ﺇﻻ ﻣﻦ ﺃﻛﺮﻩ ﻭﻗﻠﺒﻪ
ﻣﻄﻤﺌﻦ ﺑﺎﻹﻳﻤﺎﻥ ﻭﻟﻜﻦ ﻣﻦ ﺷﺮﺡ ﺑﺎﻟﻜﻔﺮ ﺻﺪﺭﺍ
ﻓﻌﻠﻴﻬﻢ ﻏﻀﺐ ﻣﻦ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻭﻟﻬﻢ ﻋﺬﺍﺏ ﻋﻈﻴﻢ” ﺍﻟﻨﺤﻞ
106.
“Those engaged in infidelity to
Allah after believing except those
who are forced while their hearts
remained firmly convinced of their
belief (there is nothing on them)
but the ones whose hearts willingly
embraced disbelief shall incur
Allah’s wrath and a mighty
chastisement lies in store for them”
Muslims are also warned of the
disastrous effect of dispute and
arguments especially over
secondary non-obligatory issues or
even non-issues.
ﻭﺃﻃﻴﻌﻮﺍ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻭﺭﺳﻮﻟﻪ ﻭﻻ ﺗﻨﺎﺯﻋﻮﺍ ﻓﺘﻔﺸﻠﻮﺍ ﻭﺗﺬﻫﺐ
ﺭﻳﺤﻜﻢ ﻭﺍﺻﺒﺮﻭﺍ ﺇﻥ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻣﻊ ﺍﻟﺼﺎﺑﺮﻳﻦ” ﺍﻷﻧﻔﺎﻝ
46) ).
“And obey Allah and His
messenger, and do not quarrel with
one another lest you should lose
courage and your power depart”
We Muslims our arguments are
excessive and usually when we
argue, we argue to disgrace and
crush the person who disagrees.
We don’t argue to convince the
‘other’ what we see is right in the
best possible manner. This has
attributed to our combined failure.
When we argue, as Allah said, our
power dissipates and we become
weak and feeble. We lose the
decorum and dignity known with
great minds. We become childish
and thus we are treated as such.
We forget that compassion, living
by example and honesty are the
potent weapons of converting
minds.
Allah said:
“ﻭﻻ ﺗﺴﺘﻮﻱ ﺍﻟﺤﺴﻨﺔ ﻭﻻ ﺍﻟﺴﻴﺌﺔ ﺍﺩﻓﻊ ﺑﺎﻟﺘﻲ ﻫﻲ
ﺃﺣﺴﻦ ﻓﺈﺫﺍ ﺍﻟﺬﻱ ﺑﻴﻨﻚ ﻭﺑﻴﻨﻪ ﻋﺪﺍﻭﺓ ﻛﺄﻧﻪ ﻭﻟﻲ ﺣﻤﻴﻢ”
ﻓﺼﻠﺖ 34) )
“Good and Evil are not equal.
Repel (evil) with that which is good,
and you will see that he, between
whom and you there was enmity,
shall become as if he were a
bosom friend (of yours)”

Any issue that will not be the focal
of one’s judgment is secondary,
flexible and not a requisite for
entering paradise
