With the new release of ubuntu 16.04, Canonical made some changes to the look of ubuntu  Unity Desktop environment, With this changes you can now alter your unity launcher position from Left side to the bottom, this is awesome right? though this is not a really big issue but most ubuntu users has complained about this missing feature, and they are very happy with its availability in this new release, Now lets look at how to move the launcher,
it’s so simple and easy, there are two ways you can do that, either by CLI or GUI. The both methods works great, though CLI option is faster as usual.
CLI Way: open your Terminal(Ctrl+Alt+T), and type the below commands.

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Bottom

To Revert Back the launcher to the Left position, Type:

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Launcher launcher-position Left

As you can see the only difference between this two commands is the last word, “Bottom” and “Left”, so you can just use one command and change the last word to what you want. now lets move to the GUI Option.
GUI Way:
1.You Can do that by using “Unity Tweak Tool” You can download it from your Ubuntu Software Center, or run # apt-get install unity-tweak-tool in your terminal.
After downloading, Open the tool and Click on Launcher:
unity tool
As you can see in the image above you can change the location of the launcher to the Left position or right, that’s all, your launcher will now be moved to your prefered position.
