Death is inevitable to all and
sundry. In other words, life of this
world must definitely come to an
end sooner or otherwise. The best
death to any sincere believer is
SHAHAADAH (Martyrdom).
Whoever gets it will not be
questioned in his grave nor will be
punished. Furthermore, he will not
be questioned on the Day of
Judgment and will received DIVINE
VIP TREATMENT in Paradise.
Below are some categories of
Shuhada’a.
Bukhaari and Muslim narrated from
Abu Hurayrah (RA) that the
Messenger of Allaah (SAW) says:
“The martyrs are five:
1) the one who dies of the plague;
2) the one who dies of a stomach
disease;
3)the one who drowns (in water);
4)the one who is crushed beneath
a falling wall; and
5) the martyr who is killed for the
sake of Allaah.”
In another tradition, the Prophet
(SAW) says: “Who do you regard
as martyrs?” They said: The one
who is killed for the sake of Allaah.
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW)
says: “Martyrs are seven besides
the one who is killed for the sake of
Allah:
1) The one who dies of the plague
is a martyr;
2) the one who drowns is a martyr;
3) the one who dies of pleurisy is a
martyr;
4) the one who dies of a stomach
disease is a martyr;
5) the one who is burned to death
is a martyr;
6) the one who dies beneath a
falling wall is a martyr;
and
7) the woman who dies in
pregnancy is a martyr.”
This hadeeth was classed as
saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh
Abi Dawood.
A woman who dies in pregnancy:
al-Khattaabi said: This refers to a
woman who dies with a child in her
womb.
