SEEKING ALLAH’S FORGIVENESS
Even a casual observer of events knows that mankind is at a lost. There is distress everywhere. Nobody seems to be happy.
The simple reason is that a lot of sins are committed by almost everybody in one form or the other. Some of them are unavoidable because they are part of the torments of the Hour.
The best remedy from Sins committed either voluntarily or otherwise is to seek for Allah’s forgiveness, by saying: “I seek Allah’s forgiveness and I return to him!” the prophet – peace be upon him said: “whoever makes it habitual to seek for Allah’s forgiveness, Allah will put for him an exit from every distress and worry and also enrich him form where he never expects” Abu dawud and others. Muslim narrated that prophet – alaihis salam said: “Heart use to be beclouded and I use to seek Allah’s forgiveness in a day one hundred times”.
That is how istigfar should be qualitative not just quantitative – and honestly done with the intention not to return back to the sin.
I seek for Allah’s forgiveness and I return to him.
May Allah cover us all with His mercy! Amin
