SPIRITUAL WAYS OF
INCREASING YOUR WEALTH:
Some traditions of our beloved
Prophet (SAW) teach us some
ways and means of increasing our
wealth, resources, property
religiously and nicely. These ways
include:
RESPECTING & UPHOLDING
TIES OF KINSHIP. Visiting and
keeping in touch with our relatives-
parents, uncles, cousins, brothers,
sisters and the rest is very
essential towards increasing your
provision, wealth and worldly
resources. Our beloved Prophet
(SAW) says: “Whoever would like
his RIZQ (wealth and legitimate
provision) to be increased and his
life to be extended, should uphold
the ties of kinship.” (Agreed upon
by Bukhari and Muslim).
His Eminence Imam An-Nawawi
(RH) said: this expression from the
above Hadith,
“his RIZQ (Wealth and all
resources) to be increased”
Meaning: to be expanded and
made abundant or, it was said, to
be blessed (barakah).
· GIVING A GREAT DEAL OF
CHARITY FOR ALLAH’s SAKE.
Giving out charity to the paupers,
orphans, displaced people and all
the legitimate needy ones
increases your wealth in this world
and in the hereafter. This should
be done for Allah’s sake, not for the
sake of winning or rigging election
as how mischievous and unjust
politicians do with their ill-gotten
money. The Almighty Allah (SWT)
says:
“Say: Truly, my Lord enlarges the
provision (wealth) for whom He
wills of His slaves, and also
restricts (it) for him, and
whatsoever you spend of anything
in Allah’s Cause, He will replace it.
And He is the Best of providers”
[Saba’ 34:39].
Our beloved Prophet (Saw) says:
“Charity does not decrease
wealth.”
Imam Nawawi (RH) said again:
the scholars mentioned two
meanings of this hadeeth, one of
which is that the wealth will be
blessed (as a result of giving
charity) and harm will be warded
off from it, so the apparent
decrease will be compensated for
by means of hidden blessing
(barakah). This is something that is
well known from experience. The
second is that even if it appears to
be decreased outwardly, there will
be compensation for that in the
reward that results from it, and it
will be increased manifold.
