FROM BOSTON TO KANO(Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi)

Bothers ad sisters, if we
contemplate very well, the Lessons
learnt or not learnt from Boston to
Kano this week holds the solutions
to our insecurity issues in Nigeria.
In Boston, with good intelligence
analysis, good governance and
genuine cooperation of the local
populaces, the terrorist were
routed out without any harm in the
populace way.
Also in Kano, one of the terrorist
was killed by the repellant
populace, a good prognosis of the
change of things coming.
Therefore people in Nigeria should
take on the fight themselves.
People have four clearly defined
enemies they have to fish out if we
want security and peace to return
to over neighborhoods. These four
enemies are:
1. BH AND THEIR
SYMPATHIZERS
2. MEND AND THEIR
SUPPORTERS
3. EVIL ELEMENTS OF THE
SECURITY OUTFIT
4. BAD GOVERNANCE
Sometimes these four enemies of
the people work in unison and
cooperate to perpetuate the state
of insecurity that gripped the nation
since 2011.
As for BH, every district should
aspire to flush out suspicious
people and document strangers.
People should never allow
strangers into their homes- how
many people were shot or
slaughtered by strangers. The
claims by BH of establishing the
sharia is known to everybody to be
diabolical. Since there is no
obstacle to Sharia Implementation
in the Northern sharia states
except of course the general
ignorance about sharia itself, the
lack of sufficient qualified Sharia
court judges and the waning
political zeal.
In Kaduna state at one time there
was an advertisement for about 80
judges for which only about 27
applied, Allah knows how many
were qualified. Of all the boko
haram individuals, no one among
them stands out as a qualified Qadi
to dispense the Sharia law at its
basic tenets. Lest anybody is
deceived, never was any
government or non-Muslim an
obstacle to sharia but our own
doing.
As for MEND individuals, their
direct influence can be very limited
as they can easily be apprehended
if people are up to the task. That is
if they decided to be active outside
the sphere of their conclave.
However, with the amnesty money
flowing out if their pockets, their
danger lies in their ability to finance
terrorist groups. Some Chadians,
Malians, Nigeriens and some
northern Cameroonians are all
there for the bidder. It is a
catchment area for terrorist,
assassins, robbers and criminals.
MEND should be taught that
petroleum does not anymore
become a local commodity for an
ethnic group to monopolize. It is
the pivot of strategic survival of
many nations. If they want to deny
their black brethren they cannot
surely deny their Oyinbo masters.
Is it then not enough for them, their
enslavement in the southern plains
of USA? Do they still extend free
petrol power to the same masters
that exploited them in the last
century? Yet deny their kinsmen?
They better wake up from
daydreaming. Nobody can deny
anybody the bounties of the earth.
They should also know that, it is
the rest of the Nigerians that are
tolerant of them, with their instincts
to criminality acknowledged
worldwide, who wants to be a
citizen with criminals? They should
know that to share a country with
them, they do nobody any favors.
As for the danger posed by the Evil
elements of the security outfit it is
unfortunately real. They are those
that hide behind the uniform and
harm the society because of ethnic
or religious bigotry. They kill
suspects with impunity and frame
the innocents. People should
document the security agents in
their locality for the sake of
posterity. I just heard that
Musharraf is under house arrest.
Nobody is above the law all the
time.
As for Bad governance, it’s the
pinnacle of the problem. Because
with good governance, all these
other groups can be effectively
neutralized.
So as we watch out for bad
elements in our society, whether,
BH or MEND or BAD eggs of the
security agents or BAD
Governance, people should come
together and bail out themselves
from this servitude to evil people.
Allah Helps those who help
themselves. “ ‘O ye who believe! if
ye will support (the cause of) Allah,
He will support you, and plant your
feet firmly.” Q47/7.
May Allah protect us all from all
Evil. Ameen!

SUICIDE: THE SUREST WAY TO HELL(Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi)

The prophet – Salawatullahi alaihi-
is a mercy for mankind. He said the
way to Paradise is easy for those
that follow his path. He said:
“everybody in my Ummah is going
to enter the paradise except he
who refuses. They said (the
companions): oh messenger of
Allah, who will refuse? He said:
whoever obeys me enter the
paradise and whoever disobeys
me he has indeed refused” Al-
Bukhari.
Despite this ease of entering the
Paradise, those that commit
suicide for whatever reason have
guaranteed for themselves the Hell
Fire forever. Anas said: “ if not for
my hearing the prophet – alaihis
Salam- saying: Do not wish for
death I would wish for it” Al-
Bukhari. People are forbidden to
wish for death talks less of
committing suicide. Islam is a
practicable religion. We are
required to do what we can do and
leave the rest to the Al-Mighty. “So
fear Allah As much As ye can;
listen and obey and spend In
charity for the benefit of your own
soul and those saved from the
covetousness of their own souls,-
They are the ones that achieve
prosperity.” Q64/16.
Whoever therefore will be taken by
fanaticism or sickness or
depression to kill himself, he has
condemned himself to eternity in
the Hell fire, May Allah Save us
from it. Muslim narrated from Abu
Huraira who said: the messenger
of Allah said: “whoever will kill
himself with an iron, then he would
be tormented with his iron in his
hand injuring his belly continuously
in Hell Fire forever. And whoever
will drink poison and then kill
himself, he will continue sipping
the poison in the Hell fire forever.
And whoever fall from a rock then
kills himself, He will continue falling
in the Hell fire forever”.
Whoever, will explode himself with
explosive for whatever reason or
disguise will also continue to be in
his explosion in hellfire forever.
This is what the hadith teaches;
suiciders are tormented with the
same means they employ to kill
themselves.
Today we see young men killing
themselves with explosives in the
name of Jihad yet they never
reflect that those ‘leaders’ that
send them to such adventure never
commit suicide nor send their
children to commit it.
My brothers and sisters, nobody
should deceive you to take your
own life. Real Jihad is fought to
either win or get the martyrdom.
The shahada is gotten when killed
by the enemy action. Allah said:
“Let those Fight In the cause of
Allah who sell the life of This world
for the Hereafter. to Him who
fighteth In the cause of Allah,-
whether He is slain or gets victory –
soon shall we give Him a reward of
great (value). ” Q4/74.
May Allah continue to guide us all
to the straight path. Ameen.

RESIST INSULTING BACK(Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi)

RESIST INSULTING BACK
An Arab adage says: ‘clouds are
not hurt by the barking of the dogs’.
The better you are the more prone
to abuse you become. That is why
the most noble of men, Prophet
Muhammad – peace be upon him-
is the most vilified and abused
personality by ignoble people.
Islam is a religion of virtues and
high moral standards. Muslims
believe that whatever they utter
from their mouth is recorded for
reckoning therefore the plenty
admonitions to guard the tongue.
In a hadith narrated by Al-bukhari
and others, the prophet –peace be
upon him- said: “whoever believes
in Allah should say what is good or
keeps quiet” also in another
tradition: “whoever will guaranty for
me what is between his jaws and
what is between his legs, I will
guaranty for him the paradise” i.e.
whoever with protect his tongue
from vain talk and his private parts
from fornication will be assured the
Paradise.
A Muslim is therefore urged to
resist insult. Allah said:
“Ye shall certainly be tried and
tested in your possessions and in
your personal selves; and ye shall
certainly Hear much that will grieve
you, from those who received the
Book before you and from those
who worship many gods. But if ye
persevere patiently, and guard
against evil, then that will be a
determining factor in all affairs.”
Q3/186.
Just think about it. What do you
expect of people that are empty
and uncouth? What do they have
to offer beside vulgar language,
rudeness and abuses? Jesus was
reported as telling them: “O
generation of vipers, how can ye,
being evil, speak good things? for
out of the abundance of the heart
the mouth speaketh.” Just check
any forum where comments are
entertained and read their foul
mouth more especially against
Islam and the Noble Prophet –
peace be upon him. That portent
the abundance of evil in their
hearts.
Therefore we are advice not pay
them back in their own coin but to
educate them of the best manners.
We are admonished not to abuse
others. Allah said: “Insult not ye
those whom they call upon besides
Allah, lest they out of spite insult
Allah in their ignorance. Thus have
We made alluring to each people
its own doings. In the end will they
return to their Lord, and We shall
then tell them the truth of all that
they did.” Q6/108.
Al-bukhari narrated that a group of
medina Jews visited the prophet
and greeted him with words
meaning “boredom upon you”
instead of “peace upon you”. Aisha
then answered them: “upon you
boredom and curse” the prophet
then said to Aisha: gently oh Aisha
for Allah loves gentleness in
everything. She said: oh the
messenger of Allah, didn’t you hear
what they said? He said: I have
already said “and upon you”.
So when you reply an idiot, you
should resist vulgarity and display
maturity. Jesus – peace be upon
him- as already condemned them.
“Ye serpents, ye generation of
vipers, how can ye escape the
damnation of hell?”
Another fallback of abuse is that it
can lead to one abusing his own.
The prophet – peace be upon him
said: “among the biggest of sins is
for a man to curse his two parents,
He was then asked: how can a
man curse his parents? He said:
the man will insult another man’s
father who will in return abuse his
father and mother”.
Finally, a Muslim should avoid
generalization. Allah Has said of
the people of the Book: “they are
not all the same” Q3/113. There
are good people among them.
They stand by the truth; they are
compassionate and friendly to the
Muslims. While on the other hand
there are ‘Muslims’ the hypocrites
that hate Islam and what it stands
for. They only pretend. You will
also find their mouth full of foul
language and abuses.
May Allah be our guide. Ameen!
